“Portia Janee’” Sims, Makeup Artist and owner of Painted By Portia, LLC has been in the industry since 2012. She got her start as a seasonal worker at Sephora and soon moved on to become a full time employee and Certified Makeup Artist through the company.
The Path
Sims has charted a uniquely successful path in the world of makeup (and airbrushing) and is known for her ability to create a flawless, natural beauty with an expressive kick. She has recently added bridal/pageant hair and wardrobe styling to her resume. She loves to share her passion with women all over the world and she is truly grateful for the opportunity to turn her passion into a successful full time business. She also was a featured Makeup Artist in Level 63 Fashion Magazine and won Best Hair and Makeup Artist for the southeast region of The National Association for Catering and Events..
The Journey
Sims has gained opportunities to be flown to destination weddings and has her own product line showcasing: eyebrow pencils, lipsticks, lashes, mascara, and eyeshadow and blush palettes. Sims’s goal has always been to enhance one's natural beauty along with educating her clients. As a single Mother, Portia believes in women's empowerment and seeks to motivate women to pursue their passions. She firmly believes that every woman has the power to be successful, no matter the odds!
